  • Referred To: House Corporations It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
  • SECTION 1. Chapter 23-3 of the General Laws entitled "Vital Records" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
  • 23-3-16.1. Additional duties of funeral directors.
  • Upon the filing of the death certificate pursuant to § 23-3-16, the funeral directors, their duly authorized agent or person acting as agent shall file written or electronic notification of the name and address of the deceased with the office of the secretary of state and the chairperson of the board of canvassers of the city or town in accordance with the address listed on the death certificate for the purpose of removal of the deceased from the rolls of registered voters.
  • Upon the filing of the death certificate pursuant to § 23-3-16, the funeral directors, their duly authorized agent or person acting as agent shall file written or electronic notification of the name, date of birth and address of the deceased with the office of the secretary of state and the board of canvassers of the city or town in accordance with the address listed on the death certificate for the purpose of removal of the deceased from the rolls of registered voters.
